What is a Tuk Tuk?
The Tuk Tuk (pronounced "tuk tuk”) is a motorized tricycle used first in Thailand for instance as a taxi. Constituted of a scooter, handlebars, and extended by a carriage, it is covered with a hood on two wheels, in which sits the passagers. There is usually room for three adults. The engine is low, compared to those fitted to small two-wheelers such as tricycles scooters. These cheap taxis, crisscross most cities and tourist areas of South East Asia. A Motorized Rickshaw version of the Indian tuk-tuk is used under this name in several countries in southeast Asia, including in India, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. It is also found in Sri Lanka, Kenya, Guatemala, Peru, Egypt and even in the United Kingdom.
